Kith and New Balance released a four-pair Made-in-USA 99X collection to anchor the reopening of Kith West Hollywood on Sunset Boulevard. The drop ran as an in-app drawing May 8-10, an early in-store release at the West Hollywood flagship, and a global launch through Kith's Monday Program on May 11. The four pairs cover the most decorated silhouettes in New Balance's American-made catalog.
The Four Pairs
- 990v3 "Hallow" — a chalky off-white tonal build with ENCAP cushioning. This is the first-ever collaboration on the 990v3, and Kith is its exclusive collaborative retailer for 2026.
- 990v4 "Dusty Mauve" — a muted pink-grey palette with a firmer midsole and luxury materials.
- 992 "Argon" — a cool-toned execution with ABZORB cushioning and the silhouette's signature ENCAP/C-CAP combination midsole; reflective accents on the upper.
- 993 "Asteroid" — a warm grey-brown finish with ACTEVA cushioning and full-length NDurance rubber on the outsole.
All four use the standard Kith x NB material story: mesh bases with pigskin suede overlays, premium build, signature tonal color-blocking. The execution lands cleanly inside the visual language Ronnie Fieg has been refining across NB collaborations for the past decade — restrained, materials-forward, the silhouette doing more work than the colorway.
The 990v3 Debut
The headline product is the 990v3. The v1, v2, v4, and v5 have all had collaboration moments — the v3 had not. It has the most committed running heritage of any 990 generation, the smallest collector market, and the cleanest profile. Kith pulling it out of the archive for a pack like this is the kind of move that recalibrates the silhouette's standing in real time. By the end of 2026, the 990v3 will be a different shoe in the marketplace than it is right now, specifically because of this drop.
The "Hallow" colorway also tells you what Kith thinks the v3 looks best in. Not a heritage gray, not a New York palette, not a tonal grey-on-grey: chalk white. That's a choice that pushes the silhouette into a more lifestyle-forward read than its running roots would suggest.

The drop is doing two things at once. The four-pair pack with the 990v3 as the lead is exactly the kind of bait that gets in-line crowds at 9 a.m. for an in-store release. The second is celebrating Kith's 15th anniversary, with the broader business launching "Ronnie's Pronto" — a new hospitality venture — alongside the apparel and retail expansion.
This is the larger Kith pattern. The Armani x Knicks collaboration last month was a venue play — turning a partnership into a presence the brand could occupy. The West Hollywood reopening is the same idea on the retail side. The product is the marketing for the address.
Where It Lands
The full collection is built around New Balance's American-made positioning, which has been the brand's most distinctive lane against the rest of the running-heritage market. adidas's Made in Germany line is dormant. ASICS's premium runs through Japanese collaborations like Auralee. New Balance's Lawrence, Massachusetts and Skowhegan, Maine factories are the only large-scale American-made athletic footwear infrastructure left, and Kith — a New York brand with a Made-in-USA storytelling thesis baked in — is the right partner to amplify that. The collection releasing in California at a moment when the brand is expanding its Los Angeles footprint just extends the made-in-the-states framing across the country.
Sizes are tight at this point. Resale will tell the rest of the story — particularly whether the 990v3 holds at retail or runs higher on its first collaborative appearance.
