Kobe Bryant's Statue Unveiling February 8, 2024
On February 8th, 2024, the Los Angeles Lakers honored the legacy of Kobe Bryant by unveiling a bronze statue of the NBA legend at the Crypto.com Arena.
The unveiling occurred before a game against the Denver Nuggets, on a date symbolically chosen for its alignment with Bryant's jersey numbers, 8 and 24, and his daughter Gianna's number 2.
As the Los Angeles Lakers and fans worldwide celebrated the unveiling of Kobe Bryant's statue outside the Crypto.com Arena, a question on everyone's lips was, "What does Kobe Bryant's statue look like?" The bronze statue captures the essence of Bryant's dynamic on-court presence, portraying him after scoring 81 points against the Toronto Raptors. The statue is also inspired by the Kobe quote "Leave the game better than you found it. And when it comes time for you to leave, leave a legend.”
Vanessa Bryant expressed her appreciation for the tribute in Los Angeles, the city that Kobe called home during his illustrious 20-year career with the Lakers. The statue stands in Star Plaza as a testament to Kobe's impact on basketball and the community.
