Mikal Bridges Signs $150 Million Extension with Knicks
Knicks Lock Up Key Forward Through 2030

The New York Knicks have secured forward Mikal Bridges for the long term, agreeing to a four-year, $150 million contract extension on Thursday. The deal will keep the 28-year-old wing with the franchise through the 2029-30 season.
Team-Friendly Deal
Bridges took a slight discount from his maximum eligible amount of $156 million to give the Knicks added financial flexibility. This follows a similar approach by teammate Jalen Brunson, who also left money on the table in his extension to help the team build a competitive roster.
The contract includes a player option for the final year and a 15 percent trade kicker, providing Bridges with additional security while averaging $37.5 million annually.
Costly Acquisition Pays Off
The Knicks traded five first-round picks to acquire Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets last June, reuniting him with former Villanova teammates Brunson and Josh Hart. Bridges helped lead the Knicks to their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 25 years.
In 82 games last season, Bridges averaged 17.6 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game while shooting 35.4 percent from 3-point range. Known as the league's "Iron Man," he has never missed a game over his seven NBA seasons.
Championship Window
The extension solidifies the Knicks' core group of Brunson, Bridges, Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, and Hart as the franchise looks to capitalize on its recent success. The deal gives New York flexibility to operate under both salary cap aprons, providing room to add more players to the roster.
With new head coach Mike Brown replacing Tom Thibodeau this offseason, the Knicks are positioning themselves as legitimate championship contenders in the wide-open Eastern Conference.
