Nigo x Jun Takahashi x Nike Air Force 1 'Last Orgy 2' Drops May 2

Nigo and Jun Takahashi reunite on a Sail/Loyal Blue Air Force 1 '01 ($150, IO8765-100) named after the POPEYE column they co-edited in the early 90s — the same column that built the careers behind BAPE, Undercover, and Human Made.

Nigo x Jun Takahashi x Nike Air Force 1 'Last Orgy 2' Drops May 2

Nigo and Jun Takahashi's Nike Air Force 1 '01 "Last Orgy 2" (style code IO8765-100) drops May 2, 2026 at $150 USD, available through Nike SNKRS, Human Made, Undercover, and select retailers. The launch is anchored by a one-day pop-up at the Design Museum in London on May 1.

The colorway is Sail and Loyal Blue — high-gloss patent leather overlays on a cream base, contrasting white stitching outlining the silhouette, and a custom "2" logo on the heel. The accompanying capsule includes a coaches jacket and tee that reprint graphics from the original 1993 LO2 merch run, with campaign visuals laid out as a scanned re-shoot of the magazine column itself.

This is also the first sneaker built on Nike's newly resurrected Air Force 1 '01 retro cut — narrower toe box, slightly tapered heel, the proportions the shoe last wore in 2001. That detail matters more than the colorway. It's a quiet reset of one of Nike's most-sold silhouettes.

What "Last Orgy 2" actually was

The original Last Orgy was a 1987 column by Hiroshi Fujiwara in Japanese magazine Takarajima, where Fujiwara wrote dispatches from his time absorbing punk in London and hip-hop in New York. The name came from a song by Tiny Panx, his group at the time.

Nigo, then a young Fujiwara acolyte, and Jun Takahashi launched Last Orgy 2 as the sequel column in POPEYE. They ran it for 23 issues, documenting the underground streetwear they were importing, designing, and wearing themselves. In 1993, off the visibility the column gave them, the two opened NOWHERE in Harajuku — the boutique that stocked the first BAPE and Undercover product alongside imported NYC and London streetwear.

Everything that followed traces back to that storefront. BAPE became Nigo's empire, then Human Made. Undercover became a Paris Fashion Week fixture. Fujiwara's fragment design became the most-tapped Nike collaborator of the modern era. The three of them built Japanese streetwear's grammar and exported it.

The read

Nike has been working through its founder-era streetwear receipts for the last few years — the Sacai LDWaffles, the recurring Fragment cycle, the Cactus Plant Flea Market drops. The Last Orgy 2 release is a different gear of that strategy. It's not Nike collaborating with a brand. It's Nike co-signing a friendship and a magazine column that pre-dated the brands. The shoe itself is almost incidental.

What makes the drop interesting commercially is the '01 retro cut. Nike has been losing ground on the AF1 silhouette for two years — the chunky, unflattering current cut sells, but it doesn't move culture. Reverting to the 2001 proportions on a high-visibility collab is a tell that the '01 cut is coming back across the line. If you've been waiting for a wearable AF1 again, this is the signal that one is on the way.

Two things to track on May 2. First, how fast the Sail/Loyal Blue moves at $150 — the price is intentionally accessible, which suggests Nike wants this shoe in feet, not on StockX. Second, whether Nike publicizes the '01 cut as a returning option on general-release Air Force 1s in the back half of 2026. If yes, the Last Orgy 2 will read in retrospect as the launchpad for an AF1 reset, not just a one-off collab.

The receipt: $150, May 2, IO8765-100, Sail/Loyal Blue. The history: 1993, Harajuku, a magazine column, a boutique. The bet: that Nike's biggest silhouette is about to fit right again.
