The Air Force 1 Patent Pack is a direct callback to early 2000s hip-hop culture, when the lacquered, high-gloss AF1 was as much a status symbol as anything with a luxury label. Nike is returning to that moment on April 4 with three new colorways, all built on the same premium patent leather upper that made the format iconic.
The three pairs are: Topaz Gold (IO4489-700) with Pine Green Swooshes and Midas Gold lace detail; Dark Team Red (IO4489-601) with University Gold and Safety Orange branding; and Mystic Navy (IO4489-400) with Grape Ice and Light Violet Ore accents and a Light Liquid Lime lace. Each pair runs the same formula — head-to-toe patent leather with contrasting color blocking — executed in a way that's bold enough to honor the original aesthetic without looking like costume.
All three are priced at $120 USD and drop as a general release, meaning no lottery, no hype tax. They'll be available on Nike.com and the SNKRS app. For a shoe that's been a staple of the culture for 40-plus years, the patent format is one of the few ways Nike can still make the Air Force 1 feel like news. This pack does that.
