The Nike Air Max 1 "San Diego Padres" City Connect releases Thursday, May 15, 2026 for $150, style code IQ2847-400. The colorway runs Dark Obsidian with Coconut Milk overlays, Fireberry and Magma Orange accents, and a Día de los Muertos sugar-skull graphic stamped on the insole. The Swoosh is shaggy suede, the lace dubrae is MLB-locked, and the tongue carries the Padres' City Connect mark.
The shoe
Dark Obsidian mesh base, Coconut Milk leather panels, a Fireberry mudguard and Swoosh outline, Magma Orange showing through on heel hits and outsole pops. The shaggy suede on the Swoosh ties it to the City Connect uniform's textured logo treatment. The skull graphic on the insole nods directly to San Diego's Mexican-American cultural backbone and the Padres' season-long Día de los Muertos programming. Standard AM1 construction otherwise — no surprises in the silhouette, which is the point.
Where it fits in the program
This is the third major-market entry in Nike's 2026 City Connect AM1 program, following the Atlanta Braves drop on May 12 and the Pittsburgh Pirates on May 14. Three coordinated Air Max 1s in four days, each one styled around a market-specific City Connect kit. Nike has been refining this template for two years, and the 2026 run finally feels like a coherent program rather than scattered colorways — same silhouette, same lace lock, different cultural read each time. Padres is the most visually distinct of the three.
Drops on Nike, Foot Locker, and select MLB Authentics retailers at 10 a.m. ET.
