Nike Caitlin 1 'Racer Blue' Releases October 1 for $140

Key Points

  • Releases October 1, 2026 for $140 in unisex sizing (style IH7423-400)
  • Racer Blue/Multi-Color; Caitlin Clark's first signature shoe
  • New Opticast upper with Cushlon and forefoot Air Zoom Turbo cushioning
  • Angular nodes form her initials and No. 22

The blue C that Caitlin Clark teased on Instagram now has a full shoe attached to it. The Nike Caitlin 1 "Racer Blue" — the debut colorway of her first signature model — releases October 1 for $140, and it is the first real look at what a Clark signature actually is rather than what it promises to be.

What it is

The Caitlin 1 is a low-cut performance silhouette built on a newly engineered Opticast upper, with a Cushlon midsole and forefoot Air Zoom Turbo cushioning underneath. Angular nodes change height across the surface to cut drag while abstracting Clark's initials and her No. 22, and a double Swoosh nods to both her initials and the three-point arc. The "Racer Blue" makeup — blue over a multi-color base, style code IH7423-400 — carries the family pricing Nike reserves for its signature basketball line: $140 for adults, $115 GS, $105 PS.

The timing

This is the payoff on the rollout Clark started with a username change, and the part that counts is the October 1 date. Dropping at the start of the basketball-buying season, with a single hero colorway and a technology story, gives a women's signature shoe the exact release architecture Nike builds around its men's flagships. For a category the industry has historically treated as an afterthought, that parity is the actual product.

The read

A teaser sells intrigue; a shoe has to sell on its own once the intrigue fades, and women's signature models have a thin commercial record to lean on. "Racer Blue" is the test case. If it moves at October velocity rather than novelty velocity, it validates the eight-year, $28 million bet Nike made on Clark — and tells every other brand that the women's signature shelf is a market, not a gesture. The C had a shoe behind it all along. Now we find out who buys it.

Update (July 9, 2026): Clark has since debuted a Fever-colored 'Yellow Zest' Caitlin 1.
