Nike is giving its most personal signature line a hometown makeover. The Kobe 5 Protro “Eagles” releases January 16, 2027 for $190, a Pine Green pair that nods to the Philadelphia Eagles and Kobe Bryant’s roots in the city, House of Heat reported.
The colorway — Pine Green/Stealth-Vast Grey, style code JF1792-300 — pairs rich green suede panels with white leather overlays and a dark, textured Swoosh outlined in white. A small football detail near the heel ties it to the gridiron.

Kobe built his legend in Los Angeles, but he was born in Philadelphia and starred at Lower Merion High in the suburbs, and his Eagles fandom stayed part of that story for life. The read: the Kobe Protro program has become Nike’s steadiest heritage engine, and with no active signature athlete to build around, the line increasingly trades on Bryant’s biography — a Lower Merion nod here, a Philadelphia colorway there. Dropping an Eagles pair in the middle of the NFL playoff window is a deliberate cultural tie-in, not a coincidence. It follows other recent Kobe 5 Protro releases, from the “X-Ray” to Jalen Brunson’s “NY vs NY” PE and Caitlin Clark’s “Scrabble” PE.
