The Mind 001 is engineered by Nike's Mind Science Department with 22 individual foam nodes per shoe. The nodes push against the foot with each step, designed to activate sensory receptors and engage the brain's sensory areas. Nike positions the technology as a way for athletes to stay present before competition.
The slip-on construction features a soft foam midsole, a stretchy fabric footbed for toe and heel movement, and rubber pods at the toe and heel for traction. The perforated upper features a knitted tongue for breathability.
