Nike Releases WNBA 30th Anniversary Sneaker Pack on May 8

Four signature shoes — Sabrina 3, A'Two, Book 2, GT Cut 4 — drop in the league's original red, white, and blue logo colors on opening weekend, the clearest commercial bet Nike has placed on the W.

Nike Releases WNBA 30th Anniversary Sneaker Pack on May 8

Nike drops a four-shoe WNBA 30th Anniversary pack on Friday, May 8, 2026 — the league's opening day — in the original red, white, and blue palette from the W's 1996 launch shield. One coordinated release across four signature lines: Sabrina 3 ($145, IH1125-100), A'Two ($155, IH1137-001), Book 2 ($145, IR6333-100), and GT Cut 4 ($210). Available at Nike, Foot Locker, Hibbett, and exclusively as a full pack at Dick's Sporting Goods.

The pack

The Sabrina 3 runs a sail knit upper with Atom Red laces, Team Navy on the Swoosh and outsole, and Photo Blue spilling out at the forefoot midsole. The A'Two — A'ja Wilson's second signature, and the heaviest narrative shoe in the pack — pairs a black leather toe and side with a white quilted toe box and tongue, finished with reflective heel pods in mismatched colors (blue left, red right) referencing the split-color shield. The Book 2 stays close to Devin Booker's clean build language in the same palette, and the GT Cut 4 — Nike Basketball's in-line star — goes two-tone, with a blue and white cloudy mix on the lateral side and bright red on the medial lace panel.

Why this is a story

Nike has been quietly redirecting marketing spend toward the WNBA for two years. The W's audience, jersey sales, and arena economics have hit numbers that justify a full Friday product moment instead of a one-off colorway. Pushing four signature lines simultaneously — three of them tied to active stars (Ionescu, Wilson, Booker) and one to the broader in-line franchise — is Nike saying out loud that the W is now a category, not a niche. The pack drops the same day as a basketball calendar that is mid-postseason, and Nike is fine with that competition for attention. The bet is the W can hold its own slot now.

The 30th anniversary palette is the obvious move. The willingness to spend signature inventory on a league-anniversary moment is the new one.
