The sneaker features a white leather upper with purple and gold accents referencing Los Angeles Lakers' team colors. Purple appears on the ankle collar and midsole sections. Black detailing includes the Nike Swoosh branding. The Protro version includes updated performance technology: Cushlon foam midsole, full-length Zoom Air cushioning unit, carbon fiber shank plate, and refreshed traction pattern.

The insole references four cities—Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, and Denver—connected to Bryant's scoring performances.

2007: Limited player-exclusive release through Nike's "WHY81?" campaign.
