OTB Acquires Final 30% of Viktor&Rolf for Full Ownership

Key Points

  • OTB acquired the remaining 30% of Viktor&Rolf in early June 2026, reaching full ownership.
  • OTB first bought 51% in 2008 and raised its stake to 70% in 2019.
  • Financial terms were not disclosed.
  • Founders Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren renewed as creative directors for five more years.

In early June, OTB — the Italian group Renzo Rosso built around Diesel — bought the 30% of Viktor&Rolf it didn't already own, taking the Dutch couture house to 100% ownership. Terms were not disclosed.

OTB has held a stake in Viktor&Rolf since 2008. It took 51% then, raised that to 70% in 2019, and has now bought the rest.

A quiet consolidation

OTB moved in the middle of a luxury slowdown — flat sales, cautious buyers, conglomerates reviewing what they own rather than chasing what they don't. In that climate, tightening your grip on labels you already hold beats a splashy acquisition. Full ownership means full strategic control: pricing, distribution, licensing, and the pace of expansion all run through one office instead of a negotiation.

"With this further step taken today, we are strengthening even more our bond with a Maison that is truly unique within the international luxury landscape," said Rosso, OTB's founder and chairman.

OTB's house of brands

Viktor&Rolf joins Diesel, Maison Margiela, Marni, and Jil Sander under OTB. It is a deliberately eclectic portfolio — streetwear-adjacent denim next to deconstructionist couture — and a different model from the scale plays at LVMH and Kering. Rosso's bet has always been on distinctive creative identities held for the long term, not category dominance.

Horsting and Snoeren, who founded the label in 1993 and turned haute couture into theatrical spectacle, renewed as creative directors for five more years in an agreement signed last year. OTB is buying the cap table, not replacing the designers.

The bet

With full ownership, OTB controls Viktor&Rolf's pricing, distribution, and expansion outright, while Horsting and Snoeren stay on under a five-year deal. The structure is the point: total control of the business, continuity in the studio.
