Philadelphia Eagles receive their Super Bowl LIX Championship Rings

The Philadelphia Eagles received their Super Bowl LIX Championship Rings at a special ceremony attended by players, coaches, and staff on Friday. The rings were created in collaboration with Jason of Beverly Hills and feature several remarkable design elements that tell the story of their championship season following their dominant 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Revolutionary Wing Feature

The most distinctive aspect of these rings is the wings that release from the bezel by pressing a special button located at the top of the ring – a first-of-its-kind feature in a championship ring. When the opening mechanism releases the wings, the inscription "YOU CAN'T BE GREAT WITHOUT THE GREATNESS OF OTHERS" becomes visible, honoring Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni's message of unity and selflessness.

The wing mechanism includes several meaningful details:

  • Five diamonds on the special feature button underscore the five Eagles players who scored points in Super Bowl 59 – Hurts, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Cooper DeJean and Jake Elliott
  • The 0.9 carat diamonds on the wings represent the combined six sacks and three turnovers recorded by the Eagles' defense during the game

Ring Design Details

Jason of Beverly Hills crafted the Eagles' new championship jewelry. The symbol of victory measures 41 millimeters and features a total of 12 carats in diamonds. The ring is packed with symbolic elements that commemorate the team's historic season.

Diamond Symbolism

  • The bezel features 145 diamonds, celebrating the Eagles' 145 points scored in the playoffs – the most in NFL postseason history
  • The "WORLD CHAMPIONS" text consists of exactly 40 diamonds, matching the points Philadelphia scored in their Super Bowl victory
  • One carat of marquise-shaped diamonds inside the two Vince Lombardi Trophies honors the Eagles' top-ranked total defense and their rushing offense that set an NFL record with 3,866 rushing yards (including playoffs)
  • The 10 diamond points in "SUPER BOWL LIX" commemorate the Eagles' franchise-record 10-game winning streak during the regular season

Personalization

  • On the players' side of the ring, players' last names are featured with their jersey numbers encrusted in diamonds against the backdrop of Lincoln Financial Field
  • On the team side of the ring, the Super Bowl LIX logo is centered between the Eagles wordmark and the Super Bowl LIX score, 40-22

Hidden Details

  • Inside the ring is a stamp of the Brazilian flag, honoring the Eagles' season opener at Arena Corinthians in São Paulo, Brazil, which marked the first NFL game ever played in Brazil
  • Beneath the flag are Nick Sirianni's core values of "TOUGH, DETAILED, TOGETHER"
  • Also engraved inside are all the playoff scores with "145," the NFL record for most points scored in a playoff run

Championship Celebration

According to Jeffrey Lurie, the Eagles' Chairman and CEO: "Our Super Bowl LIX Championship Ring represents the commitment, determination, and sacrifice of every member of our organization who helped deliver another World Championship for Eagles fans everywhere. From the start of Training Camp to our celebration on Broad Street, this team was deeply connected on every level."

The ceremony had been originally scheduled for June but was delayed due to production issues, ultimately taking place just before the team's training camp began. The Eagles' victory marked their second Super Bowl championship, with their previous win coming in Super Bowl LII following the 2017 season.

This championship ring represents not just a victory but a masterpiece of craftsmanship that tells the complete story of the Eagles' remarkable 2024 season through innovative design and meaningful symbolism.
