Prime Video set a new NFL streaming record on January 10 when its Wild Card playoff game between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers averaged 31.61 million viewers, according to Nielsen's Big Data + Panel measurement.
The viewership total marks the largest audience for a streaming-exclusive NFL game, surpassing the previous record of 27.52 million viewers set 16 days earlier on Christmas Day for Netflix's telecast of the Detroit Lions-Minnesota Vikings game.
The Bears defeated the Packers 31-27 after scoring 25 points in the fourth quarter. The game peaked at 34.16 million viewers between 9:15 PM and 9:29 PM ET. According to Amazon's first-party data, the game drew the most concurrent viewers and the highest single-day global viewership in Prime Video's history. The Wild Card game represented a 43 percent increase from Prime Video's 2025 Wild Card playoff telecast between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens, which averaged 22.07 million viewers on January 11, 2025.
Prime Video's fourth season of exclusive Thursday Night Football averaged 15.33 million viewers over the 15-game season, up 16 percent from 2024 and the highest average in the 20-year history of Thursday Night Football. The increase was partially attributed to Nielsen's updated methodology, which now incorporates out-of-home viewing. The Bears-Packers game was the third playoff meeting between the two franchises. Other networks also reported strong Wild Card weekend viewership, with Fox Sports drawing 41 million viewers for the San Francisco 49ers-Philadelphia Eagles game and CBS averaging 32.71 million viewers for the Buffalo Bills-Jacksonville Jaguars early Sunday matchup.
