Williams was entering the final year of his rookie contract after being drafted in the fifth round in 2022. The $11 million average annual value makes Williams the seventh-highest-paid running back in the NFL.
The extension comes after a standout 2024 season in which Williams rushed for 1,299 yards and scored 16 touchdowns. He also caught 34 passes for 182 yards with two receiving touchdowns. In 2023, despite missing five games due to injury, Williams led the league with 95.3 rushing yards per game and earned his first Pro Bowl selection.
Williams participated in all Rams offseason activities and reported to training camp without complaint, expressing confidence that a deal would be reached. The Notre Dame product has emerged as a key component of Los Angeles' offense over the past two seasons after limited usage as a rookie.
The extension provides the Rams with stability at the running back position as they continue building around their offensive core.
