Saint Mxxxxxx x Jordan Brand Releases Eight-Piece Apparel Capsule From $80 to $1,000

Key Points

  • Saint Mxxxxxx, the Japanese streetwear label by Yuta Hosokawa and Cali Dewitt, is shipping its first Jordan Brand capsule
  • The capsule opened May 1 at Jordan World of Flight Osaka and went global May 23 at Jordan stores and Saint Mxxxxxx retailers
  • Pricing runs $80 graphic tee, $150 fleece pants, $180 fleece hoodies, $1,000 University Red varsity jacket; no footwear
  • Rui Hachimura debuted the varsity jacket before a Lakers playoff game in April

Saint Mxxxxxx, the Japanese streetwear label founded by Yuta Hosokawa and Cali Dewitt and known for vintage distressing, is now in the Jordan Brand ecosystem. The duo's first collaboration with Jordan opened May 1 at the Jordan World of Flight store in Osaka and went global on May 23 — eight pieces of apparel, no footwear, anchored by a $1,000 University Red varsity jacket that Rui Hachimura wore before a Lakers playoff game in April.

The collection and the prices

The varsity jacket sits at the top of the run at $1,000 — University Red wool body, white leather sleeves, black trim, Jumpman chenille across the chest. From there the capsule reads like a standard Jordan Brand apparel build elevated by Saint Mxxxxxx's distressing language: fleece hoodies at $180, matching fleece pants at $150 (black, grey heather, white), short-sleeve graphic tees at $80 and a six-panel cap. Hypebeast counts at least eight apparel pieces across the capsule once colorway SKUs are included. No sneakers — this is a textile play, and Jordan Brand is the platform.

Why the collab matters

Pairing Hosokawa and Dewitt's vintage-distressing language with Jordan Brand's American sportswear authority is a way for Jordan to extend into the same Japanese-curator lane where Hiroshi Fujiwara's fragment x Nike Book 2 sits — premium, considered, not chasing the latest hype cycle.

Hachimura as the seeding move

The April Hachimura sighting wasn't accidental. Putting the varsity on the only Japanese player in the Lakers' playoff rotation the week before global release is a textbook seeding move — visual proof for the Tokyo and Osaka audience that the jacket reads on an athlete body, and visibility for the LA audience that picks up the rest of the buy. The Osaka exclusive launch on May 1 paid off the same audience locally three weeks before the global drop.
