Fifteen years is a long time to stay ahead of the curve. Soulection has managed to do it and the movement celebrated the occasion with a series of shows at Club Space in Miami.
Founded in 2011 by Joe Kay, Guillaume "96" Bonte, and Andre Power, Soulection started as an independent radio show built around the idea that forward-thinking music didn't need a genre designation — it just needed a home. What followed was one of the more remarkable ascents in modern music culture: from SoundCloud radio show to Apple Music 1 fixture, from niche internet collective to a label whose roster functioned as a who's-who of artists who would define the next decade. Kaytranada, Daniel Caesar, Brent Faiyaz, Snoh Aalegra — all of them passed through the Soulection ecosystem before the mainstream found them.
The 15th anniversary run officially began at Club Space in Miami on January 23–24, 2026. The format was a full venue takeover: 15 hours across three rooms, running from 11pm Friday into Saturday afternoon — landing on Soulection's actual birthday. Joe Kay headlined with a sunset-to-sunrise set on the Space Terrace, the kind of marathon performance that mirrors what the platform has always been about: no rush, no genre ceiling, trust the room. The sold-out event featured standout sets from Jayda G, Kokoroko, founding member Sango, Benji B, J. Rocc, Silent Addy, and Ape Drums b2b Sparrow, among others.
The Miami show wasn't a one-off. Soulection has announced additional 15-year events in London, Johannesburg, and Los Angeles, with the London showcase confirmed for Magazine Open-Air on the Greenwich Peninsula on August 16, 2026 — their largest UK event to date. The ambition behind the rollout makes sense for a collective that has always understood itself as global first. Johannesburg in particular signals something: Soulection's sound — rooted in soul, Afrobeats, amapiano, jazz, and future beats — has long had deep resonance on the continent, and an anniversary show there reads less like expansion and more like homecoming.

The anniversary events continue through 2026. Los Angeles and Johannesburg dates are still to be confirmed. For now, the question isn't whether Soulection still matters — the sold-out rooms answer that. The question is what the next fifteen look like for a collective that has outlasted every trend it was once lumped into.
