Travis Scott and his Cactus Jack collective have officially returned with JACKBOYS 2, dropping the highly anticipated 17-track compilation album on July 13, 2025. More than five years after the original JACKBOYS took the world by storm, La Flame has assembled his most ambitious roster yet for a project that celebrates both Houston's 713 Day and the evolution of one of hip-hop's most influential labels.
The Return of a Cactus Jack
JACKBOYS 2 serves as the sequel to their first compilation album, which was released on December 27, 2019, and the timing couldn't be more perfect. The project is hosted by Houston rap legend Bun B, adding regional authenticity to what's already shaping up as a trunk-rattling celebration of Southern hip-hop culture.
Founded by Travis Scott in 2017, Cactus Jack Records was born from Scott's desire to "help other artists, launch new names, and provide opportunities" — a mission that's paying dividends with this latest offering.
Star-Studded Collaborations Define the Sound
The album features an impressive array of collaborators, including GloRilla, Kodak Black, Tyla, 21 Savage, Vybz Kartel, Waka Flocka Flame, and SahBabii, alongside core Cactus Jack artists like Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, SoFaygo, and newcomer Wallie the Sensei. Wallie the Sensei, known for his guest appearance on Kendrick Lamar's 2024 GNX album, represents the label's continued commitment to discovering and developing emerging talent.
GloRilla's collaboration with the Jackboys marks her first time working with the collective, adding fresh energy to tracks like "Nasty" that showcase the label's ability to bridge different sounds and regional styles. This diversity in collaborators reflects Travis Scott's evolution as both an artist and curator, demonstrating his ear for talent that transcends traditional genre boundaries.
