Tyler, The Creator Releases New Album "Don't Tap The Glass"

Tyler, The Creator released his ninth studio album, Don't Tap The Glass, on July 21, 2025, through Columbia Records. The Grammy-winning artist's latest project follows his critically acclaimed album Chromakopia and marks his second release in under a year.

Album Announcement and Release

The album was officially announced during Tyler's sold-out performance at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, where he revealed the title mid-performance. The announcement followed a week of cryptic social media teasing that had fans speculating about the mysterious July 21 date. The stage featured a massive installation recreating the album's cover art—a surreal, aquarium-like tableau with curved glass panels and atmospheric lighting that captured the "Don't Tap The Glass" theme.

Outside the Brooklyn venue, fans encountered a large Tyler-esque figure enclosed in a clear box emblazoned with the phrase "Don't Tap The Glass," serving as both an art installation and album announcement. Following the reveal, Tyler's Golf Wang website was updated with new merchandise featuring the album's aquatic-themed branding, including vinyl editions, CDs, t-shirts, and hats.

Album Information

Don't Tap The Glass represents Tyler's ninth studio album and showcases his continued evolution as an artist. The project follows the success of Chromakopia, which featured collaborations with artists including Doechii, Childish Gambino, GloRilla, Lil Wayne, Lola Young, Santigold, Teezo Touchdown, Schoolboy Q, and Sexyy Red.

The album's visual identity centers around aquatic and isolationist themes, reflected in its translucent color palette and glass-focused imagery. Tyler has been known to incorporate elaborate visual concepts into his album rollouts, and Don't Tap The Glass continues this tradition with its immersive thematic approach.

Interactive Experience and Website

The album comes with a dedicated website at donttaptheglass.com, featuring an interactive element where users can click with a hammer-shaped cursor to "tap the glass," triggering an audio clip of Tyler speaking through a vocoder. Three mysterious banners at the bottom of the site read: "BODY MOVEMENT. NO SITTING STILL," "ONLY SPEAK IN GLORY," and "LEAVE YOUR BAGGAGE AT HOME."

Recent Projects and Tour Information

Prior to this release, Tyler contributed to Clipse's comeback album "Let God Sort Em Out" with the track "P.O.V." He also collaborated with Doechii on a Pharrell-produced track called "Get Right," which was previewed during Louis Vuitton's fashion show in Paris, though its inclusion on Don't Tap The Glass remains unconfirmed.

Tyler is currently in the middle of his extensive "Chromakopia" world tour, which continues through North America before heading to Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand. The tour concludes with final shows in Manila on September 20-21, 2025.

Don't Tap The Glass is now available on all major streaming platforms and for purchase through Columbia Records.
