Anthony Edwards' third adidas signature shoe, the AE 3 "Cold Blooded," arrives in a Bliss Blue/Sky Tint/Tech Grey Metallic colorway under style code KH8537 at $130. The change underneath is the notable part: the AE 3 moves to Hyperboost, adidas' beaded PEBA foam, replacing the Lightstrike cushioning that carried Edwards' first two signatures.
Hyperboost replaces Lightstrike
SneakerFiles reports the AE 3 incorporates Hyperboost cushioning, replacing the Lightstrike-based cushioning used on the previous two models, and that it is the first Anthony Edwards signature model to use it. Sneaker Bar Detroit describes the platform as a beaded PEBA system paired with a visible midfoot plate meant to hold up through quick directional changes. Hyperboost had previously appeared on adidas' super trainers, per JustFreshKicks.
The AE 1 and AE 2 both ran Lightstrike-based cushioning. The AE 3 retails for $130.
What the shoe looks like
The "Cold Blooded" build uses light blue mesh as the base with shiny blue caging and translucent green accents around the outsole and support areas. Molded TPU overlays run along the sidewalls. Other details include rope laces, a padded collar, ribbed tongue accents, adidas heel branding, "Hyperboost" text near the rear outsole and a wavy traction pattern. The AE 3 also drops to a lower cut than Edwards' previous two models.

The release date is not settled
adidas revealed the AE 3 on August 14 but has not issued an official release date, and retail calendars disagree. SneakerFiles and Sneaker Bar Detroit list September 15; JustFreshKicks lists September 18; Sole Retriever lists September 19. SneakerFiles names adidas, Foot Locker and DSG as the retailers and reports the colorway has also surfaced in kids' sizing; the other outlets list adidas.com and select retailers.
Uristocrat covered the AE 2 "Christmas" in December and the CLOT x Anthony Edwards x adidas Superstar "Unity Orange" in July. The marketing around Edwards' line also drew a direct response from Nike in the Wembanyama "Believe This" campaign.
