Hellstar and adidas released the Megaride S2 "Red/Black" (style code LB5626) on October 10 for $200, moving their ongoing collaboration off the Superstar for the first time and onto adidas's chunkier running-inspired Megaride platform. The shoe launched through the adidas CONFIRMED app alongside Hellstar, adidas, and select retailers including Sneaker Politics and Takout NY.

The upper keeps the Megaride S2's shape but wraps it in Hellstar's house language: raised flame overlays with sharp lateral and medial cutouts, a zipper shroud over the laces stamped with a Hellstar emblem, and black patent leather across the tongue, collar, and heel tab. Red foam runs through the forefoot before fading to black Megaride tooling at the heel, and a translucent outsole carries oversized flame graphics to match. A wider apparel collection — hoodies, sweats, track pieces, and beanies carrying both brands' branding — released alongside the shoes.

This is the pairing's first Megaride release, but not its first platform switch. Hellstar built four Superstar colorways with adidas in roughly 14 months before this one, treating the shell-toe silhouette as a running platform for its maximalist, flame-heavy design language rather than a one-off moment. The Megaride S2 move follows a broader pattern of adidas opening that running-inspired shell to outside partners — Willy Chavarria used the same platform for his "Comienza Con El Sueño" Mexico World Cup capsule earlier this year. A white-and-black Megaride S2 colorway from Hellstar released in August at the same $200 price, making "Red/Black" the pair's second and more aggressive take on the silhouette.
