Jordan Brand reopened one of its quietest team colorways at the loudest possible moment. The Air Jordan 3 "Knicks" went up for pre-order on June 18 through the SNKRS app at $215, with pairs set to ship by December — days after New York won its first NBA championship since 1973.

The shoe pairs a white tumbled-leather upper with the franchise's University Orange and Old Royal blue, carried across the eyelets, lining, midsole, and branding, with the AJ3's signature elephant print at the toe and heel. It carries style code 136064-148 and, despite the nickname, wears no actual Knicks logo. It is a near-identical revival of the "Knicks" Jordan 3 that first released in 2019 at $190.

The read here is timing, not design. Jordan Brand didn't build a new shoe; it pulled an existing one off the shelf and aimed it at a city mid-parade — the same playbook it ran when it sent Fat Joe a custom Terror Squad Knicks pack during the Finals run. A general-release retro becomes a championship souvenir, and the $25 bump over the 2019 price is what the moment is worth.

Pre-order, rather than a standard drop, is the tell on demand: Jordan Brand is letting buyers reserve and wait six months rather than risk a same-day sellout, a structure it reserves for releases it expects to move.

It also fits a busy stretch for the silhouette. The AJ3 has carried Jordan Brand's storytelling all spring, from the numbered "Bin 23" at $355 to the locker-room-carpet OG "World's Best Dad." The "Knicks" is the cheapest way into that run and the one with a live event behind it.
