The Air Jordan 4 "Toro Bravo" releases Saturday, May 30, 2026 at $220, style code FQ8138-600. Fire Red/White-Black-Cement Grey. The pair drops in family sizing through Jordan Brand retailers and Nike.com, after a delay from its original May 2 release date.
The shoe
The 2026 Toro is built on the OG 1989 AJ4 mold — the part that matters. After years of retros that softened the proportions, swelled the midsole, and reshaped the tongue, Jordan Brand has been quietly walking the silhouette back toward its original lines. Toro Bravo is the most visible test of that work yet. The Fire Red nubuck wraps the upper with Cement Grey accents threading through the molded eyelets, the textile collar lining, and the Jumpman-branded tongue tag. White midsole, black wing detail. It's the colorway that defined the AJ4 outside of the Bred and the Cement, and it's the one that 2013 collectors have been waiting to see done right.
The MJ face packaging is the other story. Jordan Brand has reserved the OG-mold packaging for its heritage retros across 2026 — every box is a small flex, and Toro Bravo is one of the few drops this year that genuinely earns it. Open it expecting the same level of finish you'd want on a $220 retro: leather quality, sharper edges, a fit that doesn't require a half-size adjustment.
Why this is the retro of the season
Toro Bravo has been the most-requested AJ4 retro for over a decade. The original 2013 release was Jordan Brand's first non-OG hit on the silhouette and one of the cleanest non-Bred AJ4 colorways ever produced; pairs traded above the original $160 MSRP through every market cycle since. The 2026 retro carries that baseline plus the corrected mold, the MJ packaging, and the cultural momentum of an AJ4 calendar that has carried the Jeezy/Nigel Sylvester collab and a long line of other heat through the year.
That AJ4 momentum runs deep into summer, with the thematic Air Jordan 4 "Comic" arriving July 25 for $230.
The delay from May 2 to May 30 also worked in Jordan Brand's favor. Pushing it to month-end gives Toro Bravo its own day instead of stacking it against the first-weekend rush — and it lands the AJ4 conversation right at the start of summer, when fire-red nubuck reads exactly as it should.
The drop
SNKRS at 10 AM ET on May 30, with broad family-size stock at Foot Locker, Finish Line, Hibbett, Shiekh, and DSG. Expect men's sizes to be the bottleneck — every AJ4 retro of the last 24 months has run thin in 9–12 — but family sizing eases the panic in everything else. At $220, Toro Bravo prices in line with the rest of the AJ4 lineup, and resale will hold above retail through summer regardless of what SNKRS does at launch. This is the most important retro Jordan Brand is releasing this season.
