Bad Bunny will voice "Pizza with Sunglasses" in Pixar's Toy Story 5, the studio confirmed alongside the film's final trailer this week. The character is described in studio materials as "effortlessly cool and mysterious," and as a member of "a small but mighty community of forgotten toys" that live together in an abandoned backyard shed. The film opens June 19, 2026.
The expanded voice cast
Tom Hanks returns as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Tony Hale as Forky, and Wallace Shawn as Rex. Among the new additions, Greta Lee voices Lilypad, Melissa Villaseñor voices Karen Beverly, and Alan Cumming plays Evil Bullseye in what Pixar describes as a "funny playtime sequence." Bad Bunny's Pizza with Sunglasses is his first major voice role in a blockbuster animated feature.
The Andrew Stanton return
Andrew Stanton, who directed WALL-E and Finding Nemo and wrote the original Toy Story, is back in the director's chair on the fifth installment. Kenna Harris co-directs. Randy Newman, who has scored every Toy Story film since 1995, composes his fifth score for the franchise. The combination — original-writer return, the franchise's signature composer, a casting list that prioritizes recognition over voice-acting pedigree — is the shape Pixar uses when it's swinging at the family-movie box-office crown.
Why Pizza with Sunglasses
Pizza with Sunglasses is a small role, not a co-lead, which is the right scale for a first major animation appearance — the cameo gives Bad Bunny a Pixar credit and gives Pixar's Spanish-language marketing campaign a face it can lead with in Latin American and US Hispanic markets. The character's design — anthropomorphized food, oversized sunglasses, abandoned-shed backstory — also reads as merch-ready in a way the original Toy Story ensemble was deliberately not. Expect the toy on shelves before the film opens, with the adidas Samba x Toy Story 5 collection already serving as the merch curtain-raiser.
