Bad Bunny’s adidas run keeps leaning into soccer. The F50 Ghost Sprint releases July 18 for $160 on adidas’ Confirmed app and at select retailers, in three colorways — Solar Slime, Core Black, and Dark Marine — one day before the World Cup final at MetLife.
The shoe is a literal hybrid: a webbed overlay lifted from the 2005 F50+ boot sits on top, while the thin, grooved outsole carries over from the recently revived Ghost Sprint runner. It is a soccer boot reimagined as a street sneaker — the same lane Nike and adidas have mined all tournament, from Willy Chavarria’s adidas Mexico capsule to a parade of Cryoshots.
The timing is the strategy. Dropping the most-streamed artist in the world’s soccer shoe on the eve of the final, in a World Cup hosted on his home continent, is adidas using cultural gravity to do what a billboard can’t. Whether the F50 Ghost Sprint has legs past the tournament is the open question; for one weekend, it is perfectly placed.
