Google has announced that Live Translate with Headphones is coming to iOS, allowing users to turn any pair of headphones into a real-time personal translator through the Google Translate app.
The feature delivers instant spoken translations while preserving the original speaker's tone and cadence. It supports more than 70 languages and is expanding availability to additional countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.
Live Translate with Headphones is designed for in-person conversations — travel, multilingual family interactions, and cross-language meetings — without requiring specialized hardware. Any compatible headphones connected to an iOS device can be used.
The feature was previously available on Android. The iOS expansion brings it to a broader device base across Google's Translate platform.
