Anthropic is reportedly holding a closed-door session with institutional investors on October 14 at its San Francisco headquarters, where prospective backers have been pricing the AI company between $1.8 trillion and $2 trillion ahead of a planned public listing, according to Bloomberg. Anthropic has not confirmed the meeting or the timeline, and a spokesperson declined to comment.
The figure would roughly double Anthropic's last confirmed valuation. The company closed a $65 billion Series H round at a $965 billion valuation in May, and confidentially filed a draft IPO prospectus with the SEC within days of that raise. One investor's math, pricing the company at roughly 30 times revenue — in line with multiples recently commanded by Palantir and Nebius — would put Anthropic closer to $3 trillion, though Anthropic's senior leadership has reportedly not set a target valuation even in internal discussions.
Under SEC rules, a company must file a public registration statement at least 15 days before starting a roadshow. If Anthropic's IPO marketing begins the week of November 9 as Bloomberg has reported, that points to a public S-1 filing landing in late October — on the heels of Anthropic's own August disclosure that it expects its offering to match or exceed SpaceX's record $75 billion raise. The company's case for a trillion-dollar-plus valuation rests heavily on growth: its second-quarter revenue rose roughly fourteenfold year over year, and backers are reportedly underwriting an annualized run rate of $100 billion to $120 billion by year's end.
