About the role
As Lead Product Manager for the Safety Media team, you'll develop in-app recording technologies that deliver scalable, user-friendly solutions with broad adoption across the platform. You'll own on-device recording that operates at massive scale — millions of trips daily across thousands of device types in over 70 countries.
What you'll do
- Partner with Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Design, and Support leads to establish a bold vision and execute on it, balancing speed, technical depth, engineering considerations, and quality.
- Combine technical expertise with product sense — diving deep into hard problems while obsessing over user experience and finding novel solutions.
- Internalize Uber's mission and strategy to formulate long- and short-term product strategy, and galvanize technical and business stakeholders to align to your vision.
- Partner with research and support teams to surface user problems, and make strategic trade-offs advised by data.
- Communicate strategy clearly to audiences ranging from your immediate team to external partners and executive leadership.
- Build and cultivate a strong team culture focused on execution and results.
Your profile
- 5+ years of product management experience delivering highly successful and innovative products.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and technical proficiency with hands-on engineering collaboration.
- Demonstrated product vision and multi-year strategy capability, with stellar design instincts, sharp analytical skills, and thoughtful product decisions.
- Leadership experience managing product managers and teams, with a track record of delivering on strategy and owning outcomes.
- Action-oriented, collaborative, and willing to roll up your sleeves to solve problems hands-on.
- Preferred: video, recording, or media product experience; matrixed organizations across Product, Eng, Business Ops, and Public Policy; experiment design; risk trend identification; and technical fluency in mobile platforms (iOS/Android) and device reliability constraints.
