The Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Green Camo" returns on Friday, August 14, 2026 at $260 under style code IM5204-001, its first retro since the colorway debuted in 2013. Thirteen years is a long absence even by Foamposite standards, and it is a function of how the shoe is made: the Foamposite upper is not cut and stitched from panels but poured as liquid polyurethane into a single mold, which means a graphic like woodland camo has to be printed onto a curved, seamless shell rather than laid onto flat material. Nike could not do that convincingly until the early 2010s, and the "Green Camo" was the pair that proved it could.
The drop
The full colorway is Black/Voltage Green/Gum Dark Brown. Woodland camouflage in forest green, tan, brown and black runs across the molded shell, with black nubuck framing the eyestays, collar, tongue and liner. A glossy black TPU Swoosh sits on the lateral side, with smaller Voltage Green Swooshes at the toe and heel. Military-coded details carry the theme: a Volt tag reading N-758384 on the eyestay, PRO97 on the medial side, neon chevron pull tabs, and an eagle-and-lightning graphic on the Volt insoles and the hangtag. Underneath, a carbon-fiber midfoot shank sits above a semi-translucent gum rubber outsole.
Distribution is SNKRS and Nike.com plus Nike Sportswear accounts including Foot Locker, Hibbett and Shiekh. On price, reporting has not been unanimous: Sole Retriever, Sneaker Bar Detroit and House of Heat all list $260, while SneakerFiles has it at $240. Either figure sits at or above the $240 Nike charged for its three Foamposite Pro retros earlier this year.
Nike stayed on the OG-spec track through August with the Air More Uptempo '96 in its original "Black/White", releasing August 21 for $170.
Why the 2013 "Green Camo" mattered
The "Green Camo" was not an OG colorway. It arrived in 2013, sixteen years into the silhouette's life, during a stretch when Nike was treating the Foamposite as a canvas rather than a basketball shoe — galaxy prints, weatherman graphics, elephant print. Most of those were novelty. The camo was the one that read as a design rather than a stunt, because the pattern followed the contours of the shell instead of fighting them, and because the military palette gave the shoe's bulk a reason to exist. It is the pair collectors point to when they argue the printed-Foam era produced anything durable, and it has spent thirteen years on want lists without a reissue.
The $750,000 mold
The Foamposite line launched in 1997 as two shoes, the Air Foamposite One and the Air Foamposite Pro, both designed by Eric Avar. Avar built it for Scottie Pippen, who passed on it — the shoe was to be part of a Pippen signature line before he decided he did not want it. Penny Hardaway saw the sample and claimed it instead, and the Foamposite One became his. Mike Bibby actually put the shoe on an NCAA floor first, wearing it during Arizona's 1997 national championship run, before Hardaway wore it in the NBA later that season.
The manufacturing was the whole story. To pour a shoe upper in one piece, Nike had to commission a mold it could not build in-house, and outsourced it to the Korean conglomerate Daewoo at a cost of roughly $750,000 — a figure that explains the $180 retail price in 1997, when most basketball shoes sold for well under that. Liquid polyurethane was heated and injected under pressure, then cooled into the shell. The Pro differs from the One in two visible ways: it wears a full Swoosh where the One carries Hardaway's branding, and it uses a different outsole pattern. That Swoosh is why the Pro, not the One, has become Nike's preferred vehicle for retros that are not tied to Hardaway's story.
Where it sits in Nike's Foamposite year
Nike has run the Foamposite Pro harder in 2026 than in any year since the printed-Foam era. The reflective "Wolf Grey" reopened the line in October 2024 at $230; "University Blue" followed on March 27, 2026 at $240; the OG 1997 "Voltage" returned May 8 at $240, and the "Gym Red" landed May 29 at the same price. "Green Camo" is the first of the 2026 run that is neither an OG colorway nor a straightforward team-color story — it is the brand testing whether the graphic-printed era has the same collector pull as the original palettes. Nike Sportswear has also signalled it will slow Foamposite One releases while increasing Foamposite Pro output, per SneakerFiles, which makes the Pro the silhouette carrying the franchise going forward.
