OpenAI's advertising pilot for ChatGPT in the United States has surpassed approximately $100 million in annualized recurring revenue, reaching that threshold in under two months, according to CNBC.

The company began testing ads with free users and Google One subscribers in January. The pilot has involved more than 600 advertisers. OpenAI reported that privacy trust metrics among users remained unchanged during the test period.

Ads in ChatGPT are labeled and do not influence the platform's responses. The program excludes users under 18 and blocks ads from appearing alongside sensitive topics. OpenAI has described the rollout as cautious.

The company is considering expanding the program to Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. No timeline for that expansion has been announced.
