Pokémon and adidas Originals have revealed a 30th-anniversary sneaker collection releasing in September 2026 through adidas.com and select retailers, Sneaker Bar Detroit reported. Prices run from $110 to $180 depending on the model. Outlets including JustFreshKicks counted the lineup at 12 shoes; Modern Notoriety calls it "over a dozen styles" and its own style-code breakdown lists 14. adidas has not published a full count.
Rather than putting a character print on one silhouette, adidas assigned each Pokémon its own model and its own construction, spanning the Superstar, Pro Model, Samba OG, Handball Spezial, ZX 8000, the Adistar Control and XLG running line, and the football-derived F50 Tunit Mega.
What each character got
Pikachu appears three times: a white Superstar under an all-over Pikachu print (KI2857, $110), a yellow Superstar with plush Pikachu ears on the tongues and character faces at the heels (KI2858, $110), and a matching Pro Model finished with yellow pony hair and a Pikachu charm near the heel (KI2862). Sources describe the yellow Superstar's upper differently: Sneaker Bar Detroit calls it soft yellow suede, Modern Notoriety calls it fuzzy.
The Charmander evolution line runs across three Superstars — Charmander (KI2855, $110), Charmeleon (KI2856), and a premium Superstar Vintage for Charizard (KI2861, $180). Charmeleon's pair replaces the Three Stripes with 3D claws. The Charizard build adds wings over the lacing, which Modern Notoriety describes as a wing-shaped flap across the eyelets and Sneaker Bar Detroit describes as removable.
Mewtwo takes the Handball Spezial (KI8213), the Samba OG (KI8220, $110) and the ZX 8000 (KI5326, $170), tied together in purple and pink. The Spezial's heel loop represents the neural cord on the back of Mewtwo's neck; the Samba's top three eyelets sit in a triangle standing in for Mewtwo's fingers. Rayquaza gets the Adistar Control 5 (KI8179) and the F50 Tunit Mega (KI5325), the latter in green scale-like material with an oversized lace cover. The Gen 1 ghost family — Gastly (KJ5610), Haunter (KJ5611) and Gengar (KJ5609, $150) — runs across the Adistar Control 3, Adistar Control 5 and Adistar XLG 2.0.
Two details carry across the whole collection: character artwork on the tongue tags, and a Poké Ball lace dubrae. There is one exception. The Mewtwo ZX 8000 swaps in a Master Ball dubrae, which Modern Notoriety reads as a nod to Mewtwo being the hardest creature to catch in Pokémon Red and Blue.
What the anniversary marks
The collection marks 30 years since Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green shipped for the Game Boy in Japan on February 27, 1996. It is the second large Pokémon licensing program Uristocrat has covered this summer: LEGO and The Pokémon Company revealed five new sets in July, including a $299.99 Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball aimed at adult collectors rather than kids.
Reebok brings back the G-Unit G6 on August 20 for $130 in its original 2003 colorway, and Jordan Brand returned the Air Jordan 13 "Flint" on August 1 at $215.
