Ralph Lauren staged its Spring/Summer 2027 menswear show, "Dream Racers," at the Ralph Lauren Palazzo in Milan on June 19, building the collection around an unlikely reference: the Italian industrialists who raced mahogany speedboats on Lake Como in the 1920s. A wooden boat sat in the courtyard as the centerpiece, and the clothes carried the same lacquered, old-money ease.
Two houses, one mood
The show split between the seasoned tailoring of Purple Label and the looser, preppier subversion of Polo Ralph Lauren, united by an outdoorsy register of fishing, boating, and Nantucket. Purple Label leaned into neutral and indigo tones, silk-blend suiting in crisp pinstripes and herringbones, band-collar shirts, and utility outerwear; the styling let a black tuxedo bow tie sit comfortably beside a multi-pocketed indigo utility jacket. Floppy scarf-like ties, velvet bows with a Western lean, and whorled cravats in shirting fabric added the romance.
