Spotify announced on January 15, 2026, that it will raise subscription prices for Premium plans in the United States, Estonia, and Latvia. The increases take effect in February 2026 for existing subscribers and are immediate for new subscribers.
The new U.S. pricing structure is as follows:
Individual Premium plan increases from $11.99 to $12.99 per month. Student plan increases from $5.99 to $6.99 per month. Duo plan increases from $16.99 to $18.99 per month. Family plan increases from $19.99 to $21.99 per month.
Existing Premium subscribers in affected markets will receive an email within the next month explaining the changes. New subscribers can view current pricing at spotify.com/premium.
This marks Spotify's third price increase in the United States since mid-2023. The company previously raised U.S. prices in July 2023 and June 2024. Prior to 2023, Spotify maintained its original $9.99 monthly price for Individual Premium plans since launching in the U.S. in 2011.
Spotify stated the price adjustments reflect the value the platform delivers and enable the company to continue offering enhanced experiences and benefits for artists.
The streaming service reported 745 million monthly active users globally and 281 million paid subscribers as of January 2026.
On January 1, 2026, Spotify co-founder Daniel Ek stepped down as CEO to become executive chairman. Gustav Söderström and Alex Norström assumed roles as co-CEOs.
