Uristocrat Studios - May 8, 2026

Uristocrat shipped four tools in a week: watch.uristocrat.com maps live sports to streaming deep links, x402 charges AI crawlers 1¢ per page, mixtape.uristocrat.com brings back the drag-and-drop mix, and transit.uristocrat.com is a real-time NYC guide.

Uristocrat Studios - May 8, 2026

We spent the week shipping.

watch.uristocrat.com

A sports TV guide. It pulls live scores, maps broadcast channels to streaming platforms with deep links, and covers 15+ leagues. Auto-refreshes every 60 seconds. Mobile-first.

You open it, you see what's on, you tap, and you're watching. No accounts, no algorithms.

x402

HTTP 402 is a status code that has existed since the beginning of the web. It means "Payment Required." Nobody ever used it because there was no payment rail lightweight enough to make it work.

Now there is. We deployed a Cloudflare Worker that detects AI crawlers (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) and charges them a penny per page to read our content. Settlement runs through Stripe and USDC on Base.

The thesis: subscriptions and ads were workarounds for a payment layer the web never had. AI crawlers are the first customers who can actually pay per request without friction. We're the guinea pigs. If it works, we'll package it so other publishers can do the same.

mixtape.uristocrat.com

We missed making mixtapes. So we built a tool to make them again.

Connect your Apple Music or Spotify, drag songs in, and share a link. That's it. Your friends get an embeddable player.

transit.uristocrat.com

We held Vibe Shift Camp yesterday — a workshop on building with AI — and shipped this one live during the session. It's a real-time transit guide for NYC. We went from zero to deployed in front of a room full of people.

uristocrat.com theme update

We redesigned the article pages. Bigger headings, better line height, cleaned up the sidebar, killed the Instagram share button (nobody was using it and it barely worked anyway), and moved the table of contents into something that doesn't look like it was bolted on in 2019.
