Barry Bonds will join Netflix as an analyst for the streaming platform's 2026 Major League Baseball broadcasts, the company announced March 19. Bonds will make his debut on March 25 when the San Francisco Giants host the New York Yankees in MLB Opening Night at Oracle Park — the first regular-season MLB game in Netflix's history.
Bonds will appear on the pre- and postgame desk alongside host Elle Duncan and fellow analysts Albert Pujols and Anthony Rizzo. The broadcast team also includes CC Sabathia, Hunter Pence, and Lauren Shehadi. His role extends to all three MLB events Netflix will carry in 2026: Opening Night, the T-Mobile Home Run Derby on July 13, and the MLB at Field of Dreams game on August 13.
Bonds played 15 seasons with the Giants from 1993 to 2007 and holds MLB records for career home runs (762) and single-season home runs (73, set in 2001). He won seven National League MVP Awards, including four consecutive from 2001 to 2004, and made 14 All-Star Game appearances. Despite those accomplishments, Bonds has not been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, largely due to allegations of performance-enhancing drug use during his career.
Netflix secured a three-year MLB media rights agreement in November 2025. The Opening Night game begins at 8:05 p.m. ET on March 25, with pregame coverage starting at 7 p.m. ET. The broadcast is available to all Netflix subscribers. Netflix plans to place 73 red kayaks in McCovey Cove as a visual nod to Bonds' 73-home-run 2001 season.
It is the most prominent post-playing role Bonds has held since a single season as Miami Marlins hitting coach in 2016.
