Key Points

  • Future released "The Real Me," a 22-track album, on July 10 via Freebandz and Epic.
  • It is his 10th studio album and first solo studio LP since 2022's "I Never Liked You."
  • Lead single "Radio" arrived June 26; guest features were withheld until release.
  • A No. 1 debut would extend Future's streak of nine consecutive chart-topping solo albums.

Future ended a four-year wait for a solo studio album on Friday, releasing "The Real Me" — a 22-track project out on Freebandz and Epic. It is the Atlanta rapper's 10th studio album and his first proper solo LP since 2022's I Never Liked You, arriving as the headline act on one of the busiest New Music Fridays of the year.

The rollout leaned on restraint. Future revealed the cover art — a close-up portrait against a near-black backdrop — and the full 22-song tracklist only days before release, and kept the guest list secret to the end. "Who u think featured on my album," he teased, turning the feature reveal into the album's marketing rather than its press release. Song titles including "California Girls," "Fukk a Interview," "Snow in Skyami" and "2018" round out the run, joining the previously released single "Radio," which arrived June 26.

Future has framed the record around personal growth and self-reflection, a "real me" turn after years of the codeine-soaked nihilism that made him one of rap's most influential stylists of the 2010s. The withheld feature list is a flex only a certain tier of artist can pull off: a nine-album streak of consecutive No. 1 solo debuts means Future no longer needs a marquee name on the tracklist to guarantee a first-week number — the surprise is the point, and the audience shows up regardless. A tenth chart-topper would put him among the most consistent commercial forces hip-hop has produced.

The release caps a loud stretch for Future, who performed at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony earlier this summer. It lands the same day as new projects from a stacked New Music Friday slate; for the rest of the week's drops, see our New Music Friday roundup from July 3 and the June 26 edition. Elsewhere on the rap-release calendar, DJ Khaled has set "Aalam of God" for July 17.
