New Balance has a new techy runner, and like most of its recent hits, the 1954R is a remix of parts the brand already owns. The first look is all grey, badged "Heritage Collection," and stitched together from a few of New Balance's most reliable silhouettes.

Both blanks have since been filled in. The 1954R released globally on July 17 for $190, in three neutral colorways — Sea Salt/Linen, Slate Grey/Castlerock and Black — keeping the focus on the make-up and the materials, exactly as the all-grey first look suggested it would.
