The Prizm Art Fair is an annual event in Miami that showcases contemporary artists from Africa and its diaspora. Established in 2013, Prizm has become a significant platform during Miami Art Week, highlighting diverse artistic expressions and fostering cultural exchange.
This year's theme, "The Architecture of Liberation," examines the profound role of visual art, architecture, and spatial aesthetics in the context of political resistance and social justice. The exhibition delves into how physical and symbolic spaces have been constructed, reclaimed, and reimagined to serve as catalysts for liberation, resistance, and solidarity.
Programming Highlights:
- Prizm Preview: VIP patrons will have early access to the fair on December 3, and virtual previews will be available from November 27 to December 2.
- Prizm Panels and Performances: On December 6, engaging discussions and performances will be hosted featuring artists and thought leaders exploring contemporary issues.
- Prizm x Revolt: PRIZM is joining forces with REVOLT, the leading multi-platform media company for creators shaping Hip-Hop and youth culture globally. From visitor relations and the presentation of 30 emerging and established contemporary artists to our weeklong programming that will culminate in our Prizm X Revolt House Party on Saturday, December 7th, visitors can look forward to an elevated Prizm experience fortified by our collaboration with REVOLT and partners.
Participating Artists and Galleries
Prizm 2024 will present 26 artists and five gallery presentations from Africa and its diaspora, including Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Kenya, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Additionally, with the support of the Cleveland Foundation, Cleveland Assembly for the Arts, and Destination Cleveland, Prizm presents a select group of eight Cleveland-based artists whose collective contributions to the arts dialogue span 60 years.
