Terror Squad x Nike Air Force 1 'University Red' Moves to September 9 at $150

Nike's Terror Squad x Air Force 1 Low 'University Red' now releases September 9 at $150 after a two-week delay from August 26. The TS logo first appeared on an Air Force 1 that Nike made for Fat Joe's Bronx crew in 2005 and never sold.

The Terror Squad x Nike Air Force 1 Low "University Red" now releases on September 9, 2026 at a retail price of $150, under style code II4391-100. The date is a two-week move: Canadian boutique Livestock had the shoe on its calendar for August 26 before pushing it to September 9, according to Sole Retriever. Livestock has confirmed the release in-store and online; a wider Nike SNKRS launch has been listed by Sneaker Bar Detroit but no SNKRS date has been listed and Nike has not formally announced one. As it stands, September 9 is confirmed at Livestock only.

The shoe is a white-and-red build on the standard Air Force 1 Low. University Red covers the mudguard, eyestays, heel panel and Swoosh, with white leather across the toe box and mid-panel. A white midsole carries red "AIR" branding at the heel, and the outsole is solid red. Terror Squad's "TS" script is embroidered in white on the lateral heel.

Why a Terror Squad Air Force 1 is a collector's shoe

Terror Squad is the Bronx rap group founded by Fat Joe, whose roster included Big Pun, Remy Ma, Cuban Link, Armageddon and Prospect. The group's 2004 single "Lean Back," from the album True Story, reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 — and in its video Fat Joe wore a pink pair of Terror Squad Air Force 1s.

Nike produced those original Terror Squad Air Force 1s for the crew around 2005. They were never sold to the public. Complex has reported that the distinction at the time was authenticity of source: while other rappers wore homemade customs, Fat Joe had an official pair out of Beaverton carrying his own logo. A signed Fat Joe Terror Squad pair was later included in Sotheby's 2022 "40 for 40" Air Force 1 auction.

Nike only began putting Terror Squad Air Force 1s into retail circulation in 2023, starting with the "Blackout" colorway. The "University Red" is a later entry in that same program: Sneaker Freaker published official images of the Terror Squad Air Force 1 line in 2025, ahead of releases that did not all arrive that year, before this pair reappeared on the 2026 calendar.

Fat Joe's connection to the silhouette has stayed active outside the retro program. In June, Jordan Brand sent him a custom Terror Squad "Knicks" pack, and he remains involved in sneaker retail through New York's UP NYC. The Air Force 1 Low itself has run a heavy 2026 retail calendar, including the return of the '01 Triple White at $150 and the Nike By You Knicks championship build.
