Nike SB has put the Air Force 1 on a rider for the first time, and the rider is Yuto Horigome. The Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Air Force 1 Low "Iron Grey" releases September 12 at select Nike SB skate shops and September 15 on SNKRS, priced at $125 under style code IO8439-100.

The first team-rider SB Air Force 1

The Air Force 1 arrived in 1982 as a basketball shoe and has been skated unofficially for decades. Per Sole Retriever, this is the first team-rider colorway of the SB Air Force 1. Horigome's own prior Nike SB colorways came on the Dunk Low.

Horigome won the gold medal in men's street skateboarding at the Tokyo 2020 Games, held in July 2021 — the first Olympic skateboarding event ever contested and therefore the first Olympic skateboarding gold ever awarded — then defended the title in Paris in 2024. He is also not new to the SB program: his Nike SB Dunk Low "Matcha" arrived in April 2025 and carried the same family crest that appears here.

What the shoe looks like

According to Sneaker Bar Detroit, the upper pairs off-white leather with grey mesh paneling, finished with grey Swooshes and matching collar padding. The midsole is aged to a cream tone for a worn-in look, and the only bright accent on the shoe is a small red Swoosh on the heel tab.

The personalization is dense but quiet. "YUTO" is molded into the medial midsole. His feather crest — a family mark, the same one used on the Matcha Dunk — is stamped on the heel and printed on the insoles. A "7" graphic sits on the heel tab. The tongue tags carry both Nike SB and Yuto Horigome branding.

The construction is skate-specific. Sole Retriever notes mesh on the side panels for breathability and the typical Air Force 1 toebox perforations removed; Sneaker Bar Detroit adds extra padding around the collar and adjustments for board feel.
