A24's Chris Hansen movie beat its roughly $15 million budget in one weekend. And Anthropic's CEO had a White House dinner with the president on the schedule the same weekend SNL parodied him.

Technology
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei was scheduled for his first one-on-one dinner with President Trump at the White House on Sunday night, per TechCrunch, which confirmed an Axios report. The two have been on opposite sides of AI policy. Amodei released a plan to slow AI development, and Trump has claimed, without evidence, that the AI backlash is a Democratic hoax. The Pentagon has also designated Anthropic a supply-chain risk, a designation the company is fighting in court. The dinner came less than a week after Anthropic released Claude Opus 5.5 and cut Opus API prices 20%.
The night before, SNL cast member Jane Wickline played Amodei on Weekend Update. Her lines included "AI is the devil and I its maker." Meanwhile, Meta is pitching its new Muse AI agent, announced at Connect on September 25, as a mobile app and a Tamagotchi-style wearable. On the infrastructure side, Crusoe dropped a 1.21-gigawatt turbine order with Boom Supersonic.
