Giannis criticizes Bucks teammates' selfishness

Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging his fewest shot attempts since 2016-17 — and he's had enough. The two-time MVP went public on his Bucks teammates after Milwaukee's third straight blowout loss.

Giannis criticizes Bucks teammates' selfishness

Giannis Antetokounmpo criticized his Milwaukee Bucks teammates for selfish play following a 122-102 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday. "We're not playing hard," Antetokounmpo said after the game.

"We aren't doing the right thing. We're not playing to win. We're not playing together. Our chemistry's not there. Guys are being selfish, trying to look for their own shots instead of looking for the right shot for the team. Guys are trying to do it on their own."

The loss dropped the Bucks to 18-25, placing them 11th in the Eastern Conference. Milwaukee has lost four of its last five games, with the past three losses decided by at least 18 points. Antetokounmpo scored 19 points with 14 rebounds and seven assists in the defeat. He has taken 13 field goal attempts or fewer in his last four games, including just 11 against Oklahoma City.

The two-time MVP is averaging 16.5 shot attempts per game this season, his fewest since 2016-17. "I'm not the guy that will yell and cuss his teammate out and demand the ball," Antetokounmpo said. "I've never done that in my career. But I feel like I've played with teammates that kind of understand the gravity that I can cause for our team, in how I can create for teammates and for myself, and how I can help the team be more successful."

The Bucks are 1.5 games behind a Play-In Tournament spot and 5.5 games behind the sixth seed with 39 games remaining.
