The Terror Squad x Nike Air Force 1 Low 'University Red' releases today, September 9, at 2 p.m. ET on Nike SNKRS for $150, style code II4391-100. Red leather runs the mudguard, eyestays and heel panels against a white toe box and white Swoosh, with Terror Squad's embroidered "TS" on the lateral heel and "JC" — for Fat Joe's Joey Crack — stitched alongside it.
The colorway first surfaced in 2023 without a confirmed release date. Terror Squad's Air Force 1 history runs back to the early 2000s friends-and-family pairs Nike made for Fat Joe's circle in the Bronx — pairs that never reached retail. Sneaker Bar Detroit reports the shoe will also be stocked at UP NYC.
Also in September: the September release slate still has the Air Jordan 9 'Space Jam' on the 19th, timed to the film's 30th anniversary.
Sports
US Open quarterfinal play continues today at Flushing Meadows. Coco Gauff meets No. 5 seed Mirra Andreeva no sooner than 12:30 p.m. ET on ESPN, per Yahoo Sports. The match follows the day session opener at 11:30 a.m. ET, where Zheng Qinwen, who beat Iga Swiatek 7-5, 6-3 to get here, plays No. 2 seed Elena Rybakina.
The men's half of the day puts No. 28 Alexander Blockx against Karen Khachanov, with No. 1 seed Alexander Zverev facing Botic van de Zandschulp in the primetime slot; ESPN's evening window runs 7:30 to 11 p.m. ET. On the other side of the men's draw, Frances Tiafoe is already through to the semifinals after a five-set win over Alex Michelsen.
In baseball, under three weeks remain in the regular season. CBS Sports counts every American League division race inside four games, with the Rays holding off the Yankees in the East and the Guardians clinging to the final AL wild card at a game over .500.
Culture
Ralph Lauren shows Spring 2027 tonight, a day before the official NYFW schedule for Spring/Summer 2027 opens. Coach, Cult Gaia, Libertine, J. Press and Rachel Comey — marking her label's 25th anniversary — all show on the 9th as well, according to the CFDA's preliminary schedule.
The official week runs September 10 through 15 with 70 runway shows and presentations. It opens with Henry Zankov's debut collection as artistic director of Diane von Furstenberg at 9:30 a.m. on the 10th and closes with Thom Browne on the 15th. Friday's schedule begins at 10 a.m. out of respect for the 25th anniversary of September 11. The CFDA's other headline this season — its ban on fur at NYFW — takes effect across the same set of shows.
Technology
Qualcomm announced a multi-generation deal on September 8 to supply Amazon with customized silicon for AI data centers, its first agreement with a Western hyperscaler. The two companies are co-designing chips aimed at AI inference — the serving side of AI workloads rather than training — along with optical connectivity solutions extending up to 1.6T.
Qualcomm also issued Amazon warrants to buy roughly $4 billion of Qualcomm stock as part of the arrangement, CNBC reported, and Qualcomm shares jumped on the news, per Bloomberg. Qualcomm has not disclosed volume commitments or a deployment timeline.
