Real Madrid have agreed a deal with RB Leipzig for winger Yan Diomande worth up to €135 million (~$153.8 million) including add-ons, with a fixed fee of €115-120 million (~$131-137 million). The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international is due in Madrid this week for a medical and to sign a contract running through June 2031.
The move caps a bidding chain Uristocrat has tracked since June, when Leipzig rejected a roughly €100 million offer from Liverpool, and Diomande subsequently said he would join Paris Saint-Germain if he left the club, turning down both Liverpool and Real Madrid at the time. PSG had since agreed personal terms with the player but withdrew from the bidding once Real Madrid's offer passed the €100 million mark other suitors wouldn't clear, citing what Goal.com reported as "rational financial management." Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool also declined to exceed that threshold.
Real Madrid's personal terms with Diomande are reportedly modeled on Jude Bellingham's contract, with incentives tied to performance that increase the deal's value year over year. At up to €135 million, the fee would rank among the largest in Madrid's history alongside Bellingham's, though it would not surpass Eden Hazard's 2019 move, reported at up to €160 million with add-ons.
Diomande scored 12 goals with 8 assists in the Bundesliga last season as Leipzig finished third, and created 11 chances in four appearances for Ivory Coast at the 2026 World Cup before elimination by Norway in the round of 32. Leipzig bought him from Spanish second-division club CD Leganés for €20 million (~$22 million) in July 2025 — a return of more than 6x on this transfer if the full fee is paid out. Diomande was 18 at the time of that move and had a market valuation of just €1.5 million.
